12 NIGHTS 13 DAYS: SHILONG, CHERRAPUNJEE, BHALUKPONG, DIRANG, TAWANG, BOMDILA, KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK, GUWAHATI

Day 1 : ARRIVE IN GUWAHATI * ON TO SHILLONG (110 KMS /APPROX 3 HRS DRIVE)

Welcome to your ‘Best of seven sisters – Summer’ tour! On arrival at the airport / Railway station in Guwahati, you will met and transferred to your hotel in Shillong. En route visit Umium Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills.
The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Shillong.
 

Day 2 : EXCURSION TO CHERRAPUNJEE (60 KMS /APPROX 2 HRS – ONE WAY)

After an early breakfast, drive to Cherrapunjee (4,400 ft.), the wettest place in the world, where you will see the beautiful waterfall known as Nohkalikai. At Nohkalikai Falls, you can enjoy the sight of water falling from 1,100 feet through the green forest. Trek through some of the amazing terrain and watch a great variety of birds. You can also explore the caves known as Mawsmai.
Later in the evening return to Shillong, en route visiting the Elephanta falls and Shillong peak for some breathtaking views.
The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Shillong.
 

Day 3 : ONTO BHALUKPONG (310 KMS / APPROX. 7 HOURS DRIVE)

After breakfast, drive towards Bhalukpong.
Bhalukpong is a small picturesque town located along the southern reaches of the Himalayas in West Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh.
On arrival in Bhalukpong, check-in to the hotel.
The rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities.
Overnight in Bhalukpong.
 

Day 4 : ON TO DIRANG (139 KMS / APPROX. 5 HOURS DRIVE)

After breakfast, proceed towards Dirang, touching Tippi, which lies on the banks of the river Bharali at an elevation of 190 metres. Arunachal Pradesh is an orchid paradise and you can catch a sight of colourful and spectacular specimens in the Orchid Park. There are beautiful waterfalls on the way, so get your Camera ready! On arrival, check-in to the hotel.
Spend the rest of the day at leisure to explore the picturesque valley.
Overnight in Dirang.
 

Day 5 : ONTO TAWANG (130 KMS / APPROX. 6 HOURS DRIVE)

After breakfast, proceed to Tawang. En route, you get to visit Sela Lake, Sela Pass (approx 13,746 feet) and Jaswantgarh.
Sela Lake is a beautiful lake close to Sela Pass which is fully or partially frozen in winter.
The Sela Pass is the high-altitude mountain pass located in Tawang District of Arunachal Pradesh state of India. The pass has hardly any vegetation and is usually snow-covered to some extent all through the year.
The Jaswantgarh Army Memorial commemorates the bravery of the martyred Indian soldiers of the 1962 Indo-China War. Set in the scenic Tawang valley, the Memorial is dedicated to Rifleman Jaswant Singh of the 4 Garhwal Rifle.
On arrival in Tawang, check-in to the hotel.
The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the beautiful town.
Overnight in Tawang.
 

Day 6 : IN TAWANG

Enjoy the sights of Tawang. After a leisurely breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Tawang, including the Tawang Monastery and War Memorial.
Tawang Monastery plays a critical role in the social and religious life of the Monpas. Tawang Monastery is known in Tibetan as Galden Namgey Lhatse, which translates to ‘Celestial Paradise in a clear night’. The Tawang War Memorial is a 40- foot high multi-hued memorial, built in memory of soldiers of the Indian Army who gave up their life in the 1962 Indo-Sino War.
The rest of the day is at leisure. One can visit local markets, famous for shawls, chadors, carpets, handmade bags and other handicraft items as well. Overnight in Tawang.
 

Day 7 : TAWANG *ONTO BOMDILA (170 KMS / APPROX. 7 HRS DRIVE)

After breakfast, proceed to Bomdila. Bomdila is a picturesque town in the foothills of the Himalayas and the headquarter of West Kameng district, situated at a height of 8500 ft. One can view the brilliant landscape and snow-clad Gorichen ranges of the Himalayas on a clear day.
On arrival, check-in to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Overnight in Bomdila. 
 

Day 8 : ON TO KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK (220 KMS / APPROX. 6 HOURS DRIVE)

After breakfast, drive to Kaziranga National Park in the heart of Assam, covering an area of 430 sq-kms, inhabited by the world’s largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses as well as many mammals including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds. In 1985, it was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its unique natural environment. 
On arrival at Kaziranga, check-in to the hotel.
Note: The Kaziranga National Park is closed for Visitors from 01 May’17 till 31st Oct’17. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Kaziranga.

Day 9 : KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK

The rest of the day is at Leisure for Independent activities. One may opt for Jeep safari in Kaziranga National park (on direct payment basis).
Note: The Kaziranga National Park is closed for Visitors from 01 May’17 till 31st Oct’17. Overnight in Kaziranga. 
 

Day 10 : ON TO GUWAHATI (230 KMS / APPROX. 5 HRS DRIVE)

After breakfast, proceed to Guwahati. On arrival, check-in to the hotel.
The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Guwahati. 

Day 11 : IN GUWAHATI

After breakfast, proceed for a city tour including visit Kamakhya Temple and Umananda Temple.
Kamakhya temple is a famous pilgrimage situated at Guwahati, Assam.The Kamakhya temple is dedicated to the tantric goddesses. Apart from the deity Kamakhya Devi, the compound of the temple houses 10 other avatars of Kali namely Dhumavati, Matangi, Bagola, Tara, Kamala, Bhairavi, Chinnamasta, Bhuvaneshwari and Tripuara Sundari.
The Umananda temple, located on Peacock Island is one of the important temples of Guwahati. Situated in the middle of River Brahmaputra, this temple is dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva. During the festival of Shivratri, every year, a large number of devotees visit this temple
The rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities.
Overnight in Guwahati.

Day 12 : DEPART GUWAHATI

After breakfast, it’s time to say a reluctant goodbye to the hills and mountains. Then transferred to Guwahati airport for your journey home.

05 NIGHTS 06 DAYS KAZIRANGA SHILLONG CHERRAPUNJEE

Day 1: GUWAHATI-KAZIRANGA ( 240Kms/5 Hrs)

On arrival transfer to Kaziranga  National Park, the abode of one horned rhinoceros. Reaching there we check in at Hotel at Kaziranga.

Day 2: KAZIRANGA

We shall start early in the morning for an elephant ride for 01 hour inside the park which is a world heritage site. After elephant ride, breakfast at lodge. Then we go for a jeep safari in the western range of the park. Overnight in Kaziranga.

Day 3 : KAZIRANGA-SHILLONG (320 Kms/7-8 Hrs)

After breakfast we drive to Shillong enroute visit Don Bosco Museum which is one of the most Hitech museums in India. On arrival check in at Hotel in Shillong. Overnight in Shillong.

 Day 4 : SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJEE- SHILLONG(56Kms)

Day trip to Cherrapunjee enroute visit Shillong Peak( subject to permission from Air Force Authorities)  and then proceed to Elephant Falls before finally leaving for Cherrapunjee-the wettest place on earth where we will be exploring the Mausmai Caves, the Naukalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls and Ram Krishna Mission. Overnight in  Shillong.

Day 5 : SHILLONGGUWAHATI ( 105 Kms/3 hrs)

After breakfast leave for Guwahati  enroute visit Bara Pani. Afternoon visit the famed Kamakhya Temple. Evening enjoy the optional river cruise at Brahmaputra river

Day 6: DEPART GUWAHATI

Transfers will be arranged as per the flight/ train schedule. Tour ends.
